Article 8

The duty of the Representatives Congress shall be that of monitoring and supervising the acts of the Government. In order to exercise this power, it may:

a) Reach agreements or suggest observations, which shall be conveyed to the President of the Republic in writing. Within thirty (30) days from that communication, the President shall issue a grounded response through the relevant State Minister;

b) Sponsored by a quarter of its members, require background information from the President of the Republic. The President shall issue a grounded response through the relevant State Minister within three (3) days from that communication.

These acts shall in no way affect the political accountability of State Ministers, and

c) Create special investigative committees upon the request of at least two fifths of the deputies in office, to gather information pertaining certain governmental acts. Investigative committees may, upon the request of one third of their members, dispatch summons and request background information. Every individual summoned by these committees shall be compelled to appear before them and supply the data and information requested from them. However, a same investigative committee may not summon a same individual more than thrice without the prior agreement of a majority of its members.
