In Chile, individuals are born and remain free, interdependent, and equal in dignity and rights.
The State shall respect, foster, protect, and guarantee the fundamental rights acknowledged in this Constitution and in the international treaties ratified by Chile and which are in full force and effect. For their protection, individuals shall enjoy all the national and international effective, timely, pertinent, and universal warranties.
